Noak Hill Archers History:

Noak Hill Archers (NHA) was formed in the mid1990’s by a small group of archers shooting locally in the Noak Hill area. The club moved to its current ground in approx 1997 and some of the founder members still shoot at NHA today.

General Information:

Based in Harold Hill, Essex, Noak Hill Archers (NHA) is a non-profit archery club with community association sports club (CASC) status.

NHA provides opportunities for any person, able to meet the criteria, to take up the sport of archery in all its modern, ancient and traditional forms.

NHA has an accredited coaching team who provide training (see separate page for details) as well as excellent facilities available to members including:

  • A clubhouse (with toilets, lounge, and small kitchen facilities)

  • Target archery range

  • Field course range - more information

  • Covered area providing indoor practise up to 20 yards during inclement weather.

  • Free secure onsite parking

Shooting:

Members have access to the shooting areas three days during the week and Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 6.30pm.

Many of our archers choose to shoot in competitions throughout the year. These range from short distance indoor competitions to the longest rounds and distances. Other archers just choose to shoot once or twice a week and enjoy the atmosphere and clean fresh air (well, as clean as it gets in Essex).

We have archers that shoot a variety of bow disciplines, from very traditional bows right up to high precision compounds.

Our covered canopy allows members to shoot all distances in inclement weather but for collection of arrows you must venture out in the rain. For insurance purposes, all shooting members are required to become members of bona fide Archery Governing Bodies such as AGB, NFAS and are bound to conform to the club constitution and rules of NHA and to the rules of shooting as described by AGB and NFAS.

Junior members (children) are permitted to join providing their parent/ guardian or a responsible adult are members along side them at NHA. Junior members are not permitted to attend the club with out a parent/guardian or responsible adult being present and with them at all times.
